Our Story

NUDE Magazine was founded in 2019 with a simple conviction: that the nude, the subject through which artists have explored beauty, vulnerability, and what it means to live in a body for three thousand years, deserves a serious, contemporary home. First and foremost, NUDE is a photographer's magazine, a platform devoted to promoting fine art nude photographers and the models and artists they work with. Seven years and fifty-nine issues later, that home has grown into a global community of photographers, models, and collectors.

What began as four issues a year has grown into six themed editions plus two very special issues, eight in all, gathering the work of photographers from every corner of the world, established masters alongside emerging voices, each contributing a distinct vision of the figure. From Landscape to Le Nue, every edition is curated with intention and printed with the care fine art photography deserves.

We believe this work belongs in a tradition that runs from Greek sculpture through Weston, Newton, and Clergue, not in the margins of platforms that cannot tell art from exploitation. NUDE exists to keep that tradition visible, on its own terms, for an audience that understands it. Where much of the industry leads with the model and the sale, we lead with the art and the artist behind the lens, with the muses who bring that vision to life celebrated in turn.

We're not shy about our influences. Many of us here began our own journey in fine art nudes under the wing of magazines like Volo and Treats! and, in some cases, Playboy. They showed us what this work could be. In time, we chose to set out on our own adventure and share our passion for the form. That's what NUDE has become: a place to champion the very best in the field, and to lift up the photographers just beginning their own path. We hope to inspire, and to stay relevant, for years to come.
